History

This project was started by @disfordave, a Software Engineer.

Dave wants to build his own custom wiki that stores his interests, ideas, and beliefs. But he found out MediaWiki is a PHP-based engine, which as a newbie dev who thought PHP was replaced by Node.js and only knew Node.js was shocked.

So he thought, “Well, maybe for the sake of my full-stack portfolio showoff, why not build my own wiki engine?” So that’s why this project was started.

The name of the engine, ‘StableWiki’, has actually no meaning at all. He just put some not-so-bad, familiar, and cool words, although it is unstable as hell in 2025. He believes it will be stable in the near future.
